The grand opening is getting closer and we can now reveal that we have spend the summer and fall working on the design of the "New Svenskt Tenn". The "new" store, which will still be in the same location as before will re-open its doors on October 25 showing off a whole new look.

Together with Svenskt Tenn we have made invitations to the opening party, in-store communication, in-store signage and product brochures among many other things. We hope you will like what you see, we sure do!

Yesterday was the big day of PIDA-Packaging Impact Design Award. PIDA is a prestigious packaging design competition that Korsnäs runs in partnerships with universities in France, Germany and Sweden. This year was the 7th year in a row that the competition took place and this years theme was "The Silent Salesman". Sandra was in the jury together with Andre Hindersson at Silver Design, Johan Falkmarken at Axfood, Maria Ahlvik at Oriflame, Eric Näf at Absolut Vodka among others.

Just recently we have worked with the challenge to create an identity for a government authority.  Together with the ad agency Spenat we have develop a graphic identity for Rekryteringsmyndigheten, former Pliktverket.

Their unique competence is to conduct tailor-made tests and selections in an efficient, flexible and safe manner for their clients. The identity we created is a visual reflection of the agency's tests and examinations with a degree of ingenuity and technology that is offset by intense, vibrant colors and soft imagery.

Today we had an inspiring lunch with Robert Hedlund, a former Creative Director at Ikea. He held a presentation on IKEA and talked about how the creative teams are working, really fascinating and interesting! Today Robert is working as a brand strategist and creative director on his own. A really lovely guy that Robert, so happy that you could come!  

For lunch Gabriella had prepared a goluptious tomato soup and served it together with fresh baked bread and salami, mmm!

Katarina Nyman

As you already know Planeta created the new logotype Katarina Nyman which was launched at her store´s 4 years celebration a couple of weeks ago. Planeta have continued to work with Katarina and soon the new necklabels, hangtags and the lovely packaging will be out in the store! It is such a fun project to work on, we love helping inspiring entreprenours such as Katarina and to be involved in all parts of the communication (from corporate identity items to packaging)!

This Friday we had our fantastic and truly missed colleague Magnus as a secret guest. Due to an accident, Magnus has been on sick leave a couple of weeks but so he came to visit us as a surprise!!! We were like kids jumping around him, soooo happy to see him and almost fighting about giving him hugs. It was really good to see you Magnus and we can´t wait until you return!

And of course the soup - Janina made a soup of potatoes (mandelpotatis) and served it with a creme made of västerbotten cheese, smoked bacon and parsley - delicious!

Friday, already?!? Time truly flies!

As you know, Friday means soup lunch and this time we got to enjoy a super duper yummie shrimp soup with wine and cognac cooked by our lovely Anna! Many thanks to Anna´s fantastic husband who baked the bread, good extra points there!

As a secret guest Sandra brought none other then Anna Lilja who runs Anna Lilja Creative! Anna has lived and worked in Copenhagen for five years and she was kind to share some of her favorite spots in Copenhagen! We got so inspired that we all want to go there NOW! It’s really fun to meet people who inspire you & Anna really did so, big thanks to you Anna who wanted to pay us a visit!

Autumn is here, the leafs are turning yellow and it´s getting darker outside. What then is more warming than a good soup and nice lunchdates? Planeta has once again started the lovely "soup-friday" where we also get to invite a secret guest. This friday, Sandra stood for the cooking and served a delicious leek and chickpeas soup. As the secret guest she had invited the beautiful Linda Bentefour from Make up Store! We had a really lovely time and it was a perfect start of the weekend.

4 Years Celebration!

What a night!
Last thursday we were invited to a fantastic party by Kny! The occasion was the 4 years celebration of her brand and also the launch of the new name Katarina Nyman for her lingeriebrand. Her shop at Hantverkargatan 47 was filled with happy party people who enjoyed the live music, champagne, oysters and Foie-gras! Deeelicious!

Our lovely client Jenny Ljungberg and her c/o Hotels invited us to an extraordinary Coctail Party at Häringe Slott in a true Krueger spirit! We enjoyed live jazz, yummie cocktails and canapés.

The talented photographer Jacob Felländer showed his photographs in the garden, a very majestic surrounding indeed! The evening also offered a surprise when the burlesque troupe "The Knicker Kittens" gave the audience a very appreciated performance - we especially loved the tassels!

Since year Planeta Design has been and still is working on various projects for Hema in the Netherlands. It is really great to take part in the international ambitions of this typical Dutch retailer. 

When the time is there that concepts finally turn into eye-catchers on the shelf, Planeta Design will not linger to show you the results of our close cooperation with the Hema team, consisting of marketing & design experts and category management. This summer the first packaging for the Bodycare Better range has been introduced into the shop. The chosen design concept resulted in a packaging with bold colours, clear typography that fits well the 'exceptional simplicity' Hema image.

About personal branding and football

Being passionate about football, Els Berkers worked on a personal brand strategy for Dutch football player Jos Hooiveld. Jos, currently playing at Celtic in Scotland has an interesting career path starting in the Netherlands with SC Heerenveen, playing later on e.g. in Finland at Inter Turku and in Sweden with AIK. 

Planeta Design is working on all the design details for among others a new to-be-built website. We keep you updated on the progress and wish Jos good luck in Glasgow.

Katarina is the devoted and inspiring designer behind the lingerie brand by kny. Her lingerie is best described as romantic with an edgy and personal twist! Planeta was asked to help with the identity and packaging for her lingerie brand and the results will be out in the stores this autumn.

The inauguration of Lakes Course!

The new course at PGA of Sweden National is designed in a parkland style inspired by the traditional Scottish courses. Small greens, large bunkers and water hazards define the character of the Lakes Course. We at Planeta were there on the grand opening ceremony and witnessed Peter Hanson´s inaugural swing!

Planetas contribution in building the premium Golf destination PGA of Sweden National continues this season with loads of fun design assignments, we'll keep you posted!

SAFE TOOLS GOES INFOBRIC

Safe Tool becomes Infobric and Planeta Design was asked to create a completely new graphic profile for their new appearance. Their new company name and profile will be launched at the Nordbygg fair 23 - 26th of March. After a long cooperation with Berns Asiatiska the new fantastic concept for their take away is finally being launched. The goal has been to create a luxurious and stylish packaging concept that conveys the extraordinary experience that Berns Asiatiska offers.

Planeta has for this concept created a modern symbol with influences from Asian phenomenon. What the symbol is lies in the eye of the beholder, where one sees a clam another sees a tiger.

Guldägget is a prestigious competition that aims to highlight Sweden´s best and most creative communication solutions. This year Sandra was honored to sit in the jury for Design. Together with her fellow members in the jury they looked at many interesting and innovative design contributions. Two new shining stars have joined the Planeta team and we are happy to welcome both of them!

The new senior designer Magnus has a past history with Sandra after their years together at The Body Shop in London. During his freelance years in Stockholm he worked closely with major brands such as H&M. Magnus is a strong strategist and a king at creating interesting and creative design solutions that will benefit both Planeta and our customers.

Our other newcomer is Gabriella who is a fun and easy loving person that brings a lot of enthusiasm and hard work to all that she takes on. Gabriella has a degree in Grafisk Design & Reklam from Forsbergs Skola and after her study she made her internship at Planeta. We are now thrilled that she has started working with us.

NEW OFFICE!

There is a lot going on at Planeta right now. With all the new talents joining the team we were in great need of a bigger office. After much hard work and many hours of searching for the perfect one, we finally found it! A bright and spacious office just a stone´s throw from our old office at Sibyllegatan 7 and just a block away from the wonderful waters of Ladugårdslandsviken. Since the end of February we are now sitting in our new fabulous office at Grev Magnigatan 6, and we are loving it!

Planeta Design welcomes well-known Dutch retailer Hema as a new client. Before the summer we already started working on a fashion packaging assignment, the first packaging will be in the store by the end of the year.

HEMA is an international retail organisation with stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France and Germany. Hema welcomes more than 4.000.000 visitors to more than 400 stores every week. Hema carries a range of more than 30.000 products and more than 10.000 people work at HEMA. The brand awareness is 100% in the Netherlands.

The golf map is currently being redrawn in and around the Öresund Region with the new golf destination PGA of Sweden National. Over 35 million Euros have been invested in the complex that will be inaugurated 12-13 June.

Guldägget 2009

Yesterday night on 2 April 2009 Planeta Design won a Silverägg in the category design at the Guldägg Galan. It was for our work for Brio. It feels great that we received this award among fifteen contestants in this category. After working so intensively together with the Brio team it feels like the icing on the cake.

We would like to congratulate all the other Guld and Silverägg winners as well.

The Gala was held at Konserthuset in Stockholm. Guldägget is a contest organised by Sveriges Reklamförbund since 1960.

Marika nominated for KOLLA as well!

Our fairly new and already dear designer Marika Vaccino Andersson has been nominated not once, but twice for Kolla! 2009 in the category art and design books.

She was nominated for her photography book Gingerbread Monument. She worked in close cooperation with Axel von Friesen.
The second nomination is for the exhibition catalogue Planketkatalogen 2007, where 96 photographers were presented.

Today, on Tuesday 17th March we learned to our great joy that we are nominated for KOLLA. 2009 design contest in the category Packaging and Signage. In cooperation with Lotta Thunberg from BAS, Sandra designed the packaging for the BRIO To Go range.

Månadens Design in Resumé

This week Planeta Design got a third place for "Månadens Design" in Resumé! They rewarded us for our work for Grythyttans Gästgivaregård.Grythyttan went year through a subtle make-over process both physical and in communication, making it a more attractive destination.

Raoul Wallenberg Academy

We've just started a new project for the Raoul Wallenberg Academy For Young Leaders.

Together with a talented team consisting of PR consultants Modin Åkerlind, copy and creative team Me and You, the new photo agency Noll Images, and web programmer Sebastiaan Janssen we will develop and design a new, inspiring website for the Academy.

Much like the Academy itself we aim to create a web site that speaks directly the young leaders of tomorrow's global society.

Space for giving love, feeling to be loved, getting crazy and wonderful ideas, feeling inspiring creativity and space to use and give loads of energy. At Planeta Design we wish you an exciting 2009 with enough room to do whatever you wish to do and receive all the love and energy from others.

We literally needed some extra space and decided to move to a bigger office at Sybillegatan 7 in Stockholm from the 1st of January. Of course it is a pity that we had to leave our friends at ModinÅkerlind with whom we shared office for one-and-a-half year.
We want to thank Camilla Modin Djanaieff and Helena Åkerlind for their hospitality and the inspiring exchanges of business views. - We wish you all the best for 2009!

As she loves to meet and connect inspiring people in combination with her passion for business, it is no surprise that our born-Dutch colleague Els has entered the executive board of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Sweden this summer.

The Dutch Chamber primarily promotes, stimulates and facilitates Dutch business in Sweden in all its forms and entities and secondarily Swedish business towards the Netherlands. The Dutch Chamber of Commerce in Sweden provides a networking platform for its members, forms a portal for companies exploring the Swedish business market and brokers and provides qualified business services.

BRIO opened in September its first shop in Norrmalmsgatan in the centre of  Stockholm and a few weeks later a shop-in-shop at Nordiska Kompagniet in Stockholm.

As we love to shop and buy (not talking about getting!) presents, it was a real pleasure to make the instore material, like bags, wrapping paper, gift cards and other things you need to go out of the shop completely satisfied with your purchase.

We wish BRIO lots of luck with their new shops and advise you all to go there to buy your Christmas gifts for all the children!

Brio - My Very First

Feeling almost like the parents to a newly born we are extremely proud to see the international introduction of BRIO's new toy segment, My Very First, which will be presented at the Toy Fare in Nürnberg.

In close cooperation with the assortment managers at Brio we created an extremely giftable range of packaging for toys.

Kimia - Green Beauty Bible

We are very proud to announce that two products from our friends at Kimia have recently received one of the highest journalist accolades available, by being highly placed in the recently published Green Beauty Bible the Ultimate Guide to Being Naturally Gorgeous.

Written by eminent beauty journalists the authors explain everything you need to know about being naturally gorgeous: how to live, feel & look healthy & beautiful in a more sustainable, eco-friendly way.

Their Exquisite Rejuvenating Facial System and Neck and Décolleté Serum both took 2nd place positions in their respective categories. The positioning is all the more pleasing considering both products were tested alongside 40 or so other brands.

Grythyttans Gästgiveri – The Inn

The famous Swedish Inn is going through a metamorphosis with the help of well-known Swedish interior designer/stylist Pontus Djanaieff. The Inn, a part of the lifestyle hotel chain c/o Hotels, will receive a makeover both physical and in communication making it a more attractive destination for a younger and more aware consumer.

Planeta Design have been given the inspiring assignment to refine the corporate identity and hotel communication to work with the physical transformation of The Inn. The project will evolve in close cooperation with owner of c/o Hotels, Jenny Ljungberg, designer Peter Hansson and communications agency Me and You.

We were recently invited to help the lifestyle hotel chain, C/O Hotels, design and develop the brands first range of merchandise. This is a very exciting project that we are much looking forward to and especially the opportunity to work with the owner and creative leader of C/O Hotels, Jenny Ljungberg and Peter Lumholdt

Gallerian Fashion Award 07

The fifth edition of Gallerian Fashion Award, collaboration between Beckman's School of Design and the shopping arcade Gallerian, took place in Stockholm 8-16 of November 2007. The graduating Fashion, Advertising and Graphic Design students creates collections and design communication for existing fashion companies located in Gallerian.

The results are then presented in fashion shows and exhibits that are put on display in the arcade. Sandra Planeta worked together with Christina Britton as supervisor.

Light at Berns Asian

We were responsible for the graphical platform for the photographer Daniel Sandberg's exhibit of fantastic landscape images at Berns Asian.

14 large scale images were silicone mounted on large light boxes creating a dreamy and mysterious feel to Daniel's captivating pictures.

Dana on tour...

Dana Berquist, our talented designer, is about to take some time off to goon a 30-show DJ tour in the US together with Eric Prydz. This once in a lifetime trip will take Dana from Montreal all over North America by bus.

Jacqueline Jacoel

She's young, talented and passionate. What else could you possibly ask for in a new designer? Well, there is the fact that Jacqueline is, once again, teaming up with her design partner Dana. They met at Forsberg's School of Advertising and Design, where their inspiring collaboration began and we are happy to have her as a member of our team.

Jacqueline has already contributed with plenty of clever work done for Lindex. Despite her young age she has managed to work with large companies such as Estée Lauder, Nokia, MTV and The Swedish Museum of Natural History.

This autumn we´ve had the honour to support SOS Barnbyar and their project Strong Families together with fashion designer Rodebjer. We created an identity and packaging for the t-shirts exclusively designed for Strong Families by Rodebjer.

The package contains two super cool t-shirts, one for the mother and one for the child, and was for sale at the Mama Magazine annual Mama Celebration for the benefit of SOS Barnbyar.
